A Senator’s Son Built Me a House At Age 20 While I Was Working As A Househelp For His Father – Actress Yetunde Adeyemi Disclosed

Renowned Yoruba actress and producer Yetunde Adeyemi has opened up about how she was able to build her first home at the young age of 20.

In an interview on Kunle Afod’s official YouTube channel, Adeyemi revealed that she received financial support from a senator’s son, whom she was dating at the time. She shared this while reflecting on her early struggles in the film industry and her journey to success.

Recalling her humble beginnings, the actress stated that when she first moved to Abuja at the age of 19, she had to work as a house help in the residence of a senator. She disclosed that her first relationship in Abuja was with the senator’s son, who noticed her, liked her, and eventually started dating her.

She compared her story to popular Nollywood movie plots where a wealthy man’s son falls in love with a house help or a gateman’s daughter. Adeyemi stated that her real-life experience mirrored these fictional stories, as the relationship with the senator’s son played a crucial role in changing her life.

According to her, the relationship provided financial support, and through the help of her boyfriend at the time, she was able to build her first house at just 20 years old. However, she noted that the relationship eventually ended after he traveled abroad for his studies.

In her words; “When I moved to Abuja, I was just 19 years old. I grew up in Abuja, and that’s where I gained all my experience. My first relationship in Abuja was with a senator’s son. I was a house help at the senator’s house, and his son saw me, liked me, and that became my first relationship in Abuja. So, I am a living example of those Nollywood movies where a rich man’s child marries a poor house help or gateman’s daughter. At 19, that was my first relationship. In Abuja, I own a salon and built my first house at the age of 20, and it was through the senator’s son. However, I left because he traveled abroad for his studies.”
